CHARLES J. GERNAZIAN
Biographical Information

 

Charles J. Gernazian is a trial lawyer whose primary areas of practice include general litigation, employment and labor law, and dispute resolution.  He has considerable experience litigating civil claims in many areas of litigation including breach of contract, tort, claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, and general commercial cases in federal and in state courts.  Prior to establishing Gernazian Legal Services, LLC, he was a Partner with an established regional law firm and managed and supervised the Atlanta office of the Firm’s Employment Law practice.  He was also a prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office of Fulton County where he gained valuable trial experience in successfully trying numerous cases to guilty verdicts.     

Mr. Gernazian also has considerable experience with alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration.  In addition, his practice includes training and counseling employers regarding compliance with the federal labor and employment laws.  Charles has also achieved much success in assisting clients with early case assessment and serving as settlement counsel in order to resolve employment disputes prior to incurring litigation costs.

Charles brings unique experience to his employment practice as he has represented both employers and employees before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and in all aspects of employment litigation. 

In addition to attending law school, Mr. Gernazian has spent significant time studying philosophy and theology.  He graduated first in his class at St. John Vianney College Seminary (summa cum laude) and also attended St. Vincent DePaul Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida (where he maintained a 4.0 GPA).  He currently lectures on contemporary topics relating to theology and Church/State issues.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia, cum laude, in 1991, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers, Recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law, and excelled in the Law School’s Moot Court and Mock Trial Programs.  Most notably, however, Mr. Gernazian was a member of the Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court National and World Championship Team. 

Mr. Gernazian is an active member of the Georgia Bar, and is a member of many professional affiliations including the American Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association. 

Mr. Gernazian is also fluent in Spanish.
